Mad Rhino - OUR STORY BEGINS

Just like everyone we dreamt small. We officially established Adventure Ministry in 2024 but it was a vision that was worked on for years prior. 

Adventure Ministry is a whole story on its own but Mad Rhino Gear was established to be the commercial arm where we could create a business ,model that would fund our Ministry.

Our first thoughts were to create an adventure store, fill it up with established brands and move forward. We hoped this would enable our Ministry to be self-sustaining.

The doors were closed, in South Africa. In fact they were so closed that 85% of wholesalers and distributors in our country did not bother responding. 

Sounds shocking right? We were not shocked.

It was expected that when we presented our vision, open and honestly, that people would dismiss us. That’s the world we live in, but that does not mean it’s the world we would accept.

“For I know the plans I have declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” - Jeremiah 29:11

This verse is often misunderstood as being a personal promise to us that God will make life easy and good. In actual fact it is reminder that life is difficult, that we live in a world that is very much in turmoil, and in fact we could even say we are enslaved just like the people of Israel were enslaved and persecuted in Babylon.

The Chapter of God’s prophet Jeremiah is reminder that no matter what the circumstance that GOD IS IN CONTROL.

It promises that we can have HOPE. No matter how difficult things seem now! It is a reminder that we must TRUST GODS PLAN.

So we had a meeting, we asked for guidance from our biggest and most loyal supporter in Jesus and we got an answer, graciously bestowed, we felt our small vision grow exponentially and suddenly we are not dreaming small anymore, we had grander ideas.

So we followed that.

We went out and travelled to iCast 2024, we went to a couple of Outdoor shows and we came back and sent enquiries for every top quality, unique and innovative brand we had seen and could find.

The response? 91%. 41 responses out of 51 approaches.

Every single response was either a good luck but we not expanding OR we are proud to be associated with such a concept, let’s get business done.

So we changed our entire approach and have so far brought some of the most innovative, technologically advanced brands in the fishing, hunting and outdoor industry on board and into our family.

Mad Rhino Gear, the distribution company, has opened for business.

We dreamt small, we asked for guidance and our dreams did not come true, God made our TRUTH even bigger, He said, work harder, be brave and have courage to make serving Him a bigger TRUTH not a dream.

Through His guidance and the strength that the Holy Spirit gives an incredibly dedicated team, we are no longer knocking on doors, we are running through them.

WHAT'S IN OUR NAME:

MAD RHINO - Strange but we have a message in it.

We are GOD crazy. Although many will call us insane. That is perfectly fine with us.

RHINO

The Power of the Holy Spirit makes us tough, resilient and strong.

Also, let’s be honest, if you land yourself in a face off with a rhino, even an atheist will find that God suddenly becomes his friend fairly quickly.

It is a reminder that God works in mysterious ways to bring people to Him.

Even during a game of chicken with a rhino.
